Lia’s Challenge

Lia’s Challenge: The Winners Are…

August 2, 2009

This past Spring, the Susan B. Anthony List launched Lia’s Challenge, our 1st Youth Pro-Life Video Contest.

We are pleased to announce that 50 pro-life youth participated, and we have announced our winners!

Congratulations
to Anthony Matzke, age 12 of Lacombe, Louisiana for submitting the
winning video, ‘Be a Voice’ for the 12 years and younger age category.

And our 13-18 age category winner was Hannah Finch, age 18, of Hopewell Junction, New York for her video, ‘Choices.’

Anthony and Hannah will be awarded $1,000 scholarships thanks to the generosity of your donations!

Our
two winners received a call from 12 year-old Lia Mills, the contest
namesake. Lia gave a speech about abortion for a school contest. Since
it was posted on YouTube, it has been viewed over half a million times!
And it has saved lives.

That’s
because in today’s world, some of the greatest advocates of the
pro-life movement are its youth—young voices with fresh and unique
perspectives and the power to change hearts and minds.

We look forward to next year’s Youth Pro-Life Video Contest.
